Mandawa was founded by the Shekhawat's in 1755. The some desert area of "Mandawa Shekhawati Region is situated in the triangular mass of card between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner." This area is famous for painted Haveli's or mentors with beautiful frescoes today termed as an open air art gallery of Rajasthan. Mandawa wall painting mainly comprises the religious painting. The shooting scenes on the elephant and horses and guns, spears, bows and arrow are seen a lot.

The inventions of signs can also be seen in the wall paintings of cars, motors, airoplanes, phones, cycles and gramophones etc.

The local merchant took a great interest in constructing the palacial bulidings, temples, cenotaphs, wells, inns etc. With fresh paintings which are now monuments of the ancient art, Litrature and Cultural of India. The more we see them, the more we enjoy.
