Rajasthan is the land of Rajputs, the land
of the kings(Raethan or Rajasthan), The
principal language of Rajasthan is "Rajasthani",
but the official language is Hindi.
Rajasthan has four major dialects are
Marwari in the west, Jaipuri in the east,
Malwi in the southeast and Mewati in the
northeast.
Music and Dance
Rajasthan's folk music is eternal, for its
uniqueness has caught the attention of not
just classical musicians but also the doyens
of Hindi music.

Religion
Hindusim is the main religion of Rajasthan.
Other significant religious groups in the
state are the Jains and the Muslims. There
are many local folk heros and local deities
such as Pabuji, Ramdeoji, Gogaji, Mehaji,
Tejaji & Harbhuji.
Fairs and festivals
Fairs and Festivals plays a major roll in
the life of Rajasthan. Preperation for
festivals, big or small,were always
elaborate. the houses would be decorated
with intricate mandanas, or flour patterns
on the floor; the floors would be cleaned
till they sparkled. Hardly a month passed
without a festival. There are also fests

Makar Sakranti
In the first quarter of the year, Jaipur and
Jodhpur grar up to celebrate the anuual Kite
Flying Festival of Makar Sakranti, which
falls on January 14. This marks the sun's
entry into the Northern Hemisphere and also
signals the end of Winters.
Baneshwar Fair
It is celebrated at the end of the January
or the first week of the February. People
sing Folk sonngs, dance and eat.
Kaila Devi Fair
The Kaila Devi Fair of Karauli, held in
March-April, is dedicated to Goddess
Mahalaxami. This fair lasts 12 days.
Mewar Festival
This fetival in Udaipur in March-April is
meant to welcome spring.Elephant Festival
In Jaipur. the Elephant Festival held on the
occasion of Holi . There are elephant races
and polo games as well.
Art & architecture
Rajasthan is known for its traditional and
colorful art. The block prints, tie and die
prints, Bagaru prints, Sanganer prints, Zari
embroidery are major export products from
Rajasthan. Handicraft items like wooden
furniture and handicrafts, carpets, blur
potteries are some of the things you will
find here. Rajasthan is shoppers paradise.
Rajasthan is famous for the majestic forts,
intricately carved temples and decorated
havelis. Jantar Mantar, Dilwara Temples,
Chittauragrh Fort, Lake Palace Hotel, City
