Dholpur has special history significance.
The famous fort of dholpur was a
important military cantt. Dholpur being
closer to Agra. A fairly recent state which
came about in 1805 AD.Dholpur is known
county wide for its locally quarried stand
stone. This is led stone which had been used
extensively is not only places but also in
the buildings.Dholpur witnessed many
important battles. A mughal style tomb of
Zareena Begumbuilt of hindu architecture and
a shiva temple of Marathas are worth
visiting.
JHOR (Rajasthan,16kms.from Dholpur) jhor
the site of the oldest Mughal garden in the
Sub continent started in 1527AD by Bahar.
There are still sings of the intricate
planning that went into these gained
gardens.
