Rajasthan is one of the driest regions
of India. Its location on the margins of
pure desert has made much of it
particularly susceptible to climatic
chage, and fossil sand dunes found as
far east as Delhi testify to the advance
and retreat of the desert over the last
5,000 years. Except in the hills the
summer temperature are very high with a
maximum of 46°C and an average from May
to August of 38°C. In winter the daily
maximum in most low lying areas is
22°C-28°C and the minimum 8°C- 14°C.
Over three quarters of the rainfall
comes between July and september The
Aravalli range tends to experience a
higher rainfall and lower temprature
throughout the year. To the southwest
there is higher rainfall and marked
humidity
