Backwater Ripples is a land mark in the expansive Vembanadu Backwater Lake Shore (KERALA) - INDIA. We are located just 70kms from Kochi International Airport and 171 kms from Trivandrum International Airport. By road you may take 1 hour 45 minutes to reach us from Kochi and 3 hours from Trivandrum. You can reach the Kottayam Railway Station from our Resort in 15 minutes.

The resort has 34 independent luxury cottages and executive rooms in a range of layouts including cottages with a spectacular view of the Vembanadu lake. Spacious open air bathrooms are seamlessly connected to large bed rooms with king size beds. Natural material such as wood, granite and marble create a feeling of warmth and luxury. From the traditionally crafted wooden furniture, local nature paintings and ethnic handicrafts to the modern gadgets, the resort harmoniously blends ancient heritage and latest technology.

Cordon Bleu (Multi-Cusine Restaurant)
The Cordon Bleu, our multi-cusine restaurant serves you authentic local delicacies from the Vembanadu lake - 'Karimeen' Pollichathu, (fish wrapped in banana leaves straight from the pan) Prawns, Crabs, Oysters and a variety of products fresh from the lake. The spicy chicken - 'Kozhi Varautharachathu' and the 'Syrian Christian duck Roast' are the traditional local favourites. Exciting and innovative menus offer you the choicest North Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes as well.

Lake side Barbeque
The Lake side Barbeque is our open kitchen by the lake side where you can interact with our chef and enjoy our Grill menu while watching the sunset and the flocks of birds flying home.

Our planned Sunset Cruise serves a five course dinner with all the local delicacies while you cruise through the vast expanse of the lake.

Centre Court Banquet Hall
The open to lake Centre Court Banquet Hall has a capacity of one thousand banquet seating. The pre function area, the lake side lawn, the courtyard and the huge parking space allows the Convention Services staff to customize and supervise every event from start to finish. Our in-house catering department can provide you the typical local menu or a sophisticated continental menu.

Conclave
The Conclave, our air- conditioned conference room with a seating capacity of one hundred with all the multi media support is ideal for business meetings and small functions.

Pool Side Lawn And Mandapam

Arayannam (The HouseBoat)
Arayannam, the unique eco friendly houseboat of Backwater Ripples has two bedrooms with attached bathrooms, two upper decks and a loft. This fully furnished self contained boat with full crew can take you to the middle of the lake where the still night bathed in moonlight can lull you to sleep while floating on the emerald waters of Vembanadu lake.

Centre Court Banquet Hall
