●
Restaurant
The food at Swaswara is in keeping
with the natural spirit that
inspires everything else here. The
accent is on the fruits of the land
and the sea. And the focus is on
freshness, pure and simple. Fresh
produce from the farms surrounding
Swaswara provides the accompaniment.
The cuisine avoids Meats but
concentrates instead on the fresh
catch of local shellfish and seafish
including the local Fresh fish and
other seafood, based on seasonal
variants and the catch of the day.
These are accompanied with fresh
produce from the local farms and a
growing selection of wines. Hard
liquor is avoided. Instead, a
selection of fine wines, both
imported and local is served.
●
Yoga & Meditation
There are, of course, extensive
Yoga, Pranayama and meditation
facilities, with individual
attention from qualified yoga
teachers. For more serious Yoga
lovers, as also for people with
specific ailments, SwaSwara offers a
whole range of options. On request
the resort will create a therapy
program specially customized to
individual needs, complete with Yoga
postures and Pranayama (breath
excercises), meditations, diet and
Ayurvedic massage. SwaSwara has an
ayurvedic centre with a variety of
massages and other therapies. Then
there are the charms of Om beach,
and a number of other beaches that
are a short boat ride away. The
temple town of Gokarna and Gokarna
beach make for a fascinating day's
excursion.

Ayurveda
SwaSwara's Ayurvedic centre provides
a range of treatments, which focus
on tension-reducing and rejuvenating
massages with medicated oils to
release toxins stored in the body
fat. Activities and diet will also
be recommended according to one's
individual 'dosha' or body type. A
full 'Panchakarma' treatment, which
is basically a total system
overhaul, normally requiring a
minimum of 10 days, can have
dramatically positive effects,
mentally and physically. And, as
this lucky Mr Smith discovered, if
you are going to make the long trip
to this idyllic eco-haven, then
there can be no better place than
SwaSwara to totally immerse into
what India does so well, yoga and
Ayurveda, in luxury where your
conscience, as well as your body,
soul and mind, is clean, green and
healthy.
