Ayurveda
Ayurveda, dating back
5000-10000 years is the oldest and
most holistic medical system
available on the planet today. The
word Ayurveda comes from the
Sanskrit, "Ayur" and "veda" which
means the Science of life.
People from numerous countries like
China, Tibet, Rome, Greece, Egypt,
Afghanistan and Persia came to
Indian ayurvedic schools to learn
about this world of medicine. Many
natural healing systems like
Homeopathy, Chinese medicine, Unani
medicine, Polarity medicine and the
humoral medicine practiced by
Hippocrates in Greece have their
roots in Ayurveda. For this reason,
Ayurveda is often referred to as the
"Mother of all healing."
Ayurveda places great emphasis on
prevention and encourages
maintaining health by paying close
attention to balance in one's life
through right thinking, diet,
lifestyle and use of herbs.
Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to
understand how to create a balance
of body, mind and consciousness
according to one's own individual
constitution and how to make
lifestyle changes to bring about and
maintain this balance.

Very soon, our network will spread
all over India and outside.
Panchakarma
Panchakarma (which means 5 steps or
5 actions) is a cleansing and
rejuvenating program for the body
and mind. It is well-known for its
beneficial effects on the overall
health and sense of well-being of an
individual. According to Ayurveda,
our natural state is one of health,
happiness and an inner sense of
well-being. Health is defined as a
state where the human body is clear
of toxins, the mind is at peace and
emotions are calm and happy, our
body waste is efficiently eliminated
and organs are all functioning
normally. In a busy, toxic world,
our physical and mental systems
accumulate toxins which cause
deterioration in the normal
functioning of our body. This will
eventually weaken our system thus
opening the way for the attack of
chronic degenerative and
non-specific diseases to develop.
This will ultimately damage the
individual's health and sense of
well-being.

Panchakarma tries to reverse these
negative effects of daily living and
restore one's natural state of
health and wellness by cleansing the
body of toxins, bringing balance to
our system and improve bodily
function. It also helps to make the
necessary positive changes in
lifestyle.
The Panchakarma therapeutic process
seems very simple but its effects
are powerful. This treatment is
completely natural and unique. The
series of this treatment will
cleanse the body of deep tissue
toxins, open the necessary channels,
bring in a rejuvenation and
enhancing sense of well-being
thereby increasing vitality,
confidence and health.
We are organising short term courses
in KERALA special PANCHAKARMA
therapies for qualified Ayurveda
Doctors . pls note -make it as bold
item.
We offer specialised training to
Ayurveda doctors & aspiring
therapists in the KERALA SPECIAL
PANCHAKARMA therapies.I
Yoga
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice
that dates back to 2500 BC ,
possibly even earlier. Yoga, the
science of man, based on ancient
Indian wisdom and culture, is an art
of living a healthy, balanced,
peaceful and contented life. It is a
scientific system designed to bring
the practitioners health, happiness,
and a greater sense of Self.
In Yoga, the body and mind are
linked to create a state of internal
peacefulness and integration. At the
practical level, and included in the
contemporary definitions of Yoga,
are the actual physiological/mental
techniques themselves. These
techniques concentrate on posture
and alignment, as well as create a
higher consciousness. Yoga utilizes
stretching postures, breathing, and
meditation techniques to calm the
emotional state and the mind, and
tone the body. Yoga Treatments
At Athreya, you can practice yoga
under the caring guidance of
qualified doctors. As a part of
treatment Yoga-Meditation course
will be conducted depending upon the
patient’s body conditions. The
course of the treatment may vary
according to the direction of the
doctor.
