About Us


Lotus hotel is centrally located around 5 minutes walk from the Leh Market (Ladakh, India) surrounded by green lush fields and poplar trees. Lotus provides 17 well furnished double rooms with attached bath with running hot and cold shower. Restaurant serves Indian, Chinese, and continental dishes. Doctor on call, travel arrangements, room, laundry services and cultural program on request.

Ladakh is a region situated at a high altitude (9,000 ft and above), part of State of Jammu and Kashmir however completely different in terms of Physical location, climate, culture and traditions.

Ladakh is bounded by two of the world's highest Mountain ranges, the Karakoram & great Himalaya and the region around is known for a dry desert like landscape (as annual rainfall is less than 10 inches), few lakes, quite a few monasteries and stunning Himalayan views. Manali-Leh is a legendary route for adventure seekers from world over during June-Sept season.

Around Leh there are quite a few options for adventure seekers in terms of White Water Rafting, High Altitude Trekking (Zanskar Valley, Nubra Valley, Chadar Ice Trek and Indus Valley Trek) and High Altitude Birding.

Sightseeing Options in the area are:

• Hemis Monastery - 40 km southeast of leh
• Thiksey Monastery - 17 kms South of Leh
• Shey Palace - 15 kms, south of Leh
• Patthar Sahib - 20 kms

July and August is considered the best months to visit Leh from the point of view of Festivals. Leh is famous for hosting the world renowned Ladakh Festival. Winters (Oct-March) are extremely cold here with temperatures touching minus 30 and recommended only for extreme weather adventure enthusiasts (Such as Ice Skating on frozen Zanskar River).

Access : Leh is accessible by Road from Manali and Srinagar. Both Routes are best done with one of two night stopovers. Best way to access Leh is by flight from Delhi. Air Deccan, Jet Airways and Indian has flights.
