Build in the 16th century and dedicated to infant Jesus, Besilica of Bom Jesus has an impressive structure. The interior of the church is grand yet simple. The church has three stories and has some exquisitely carved embellishments. The design of the church is inspired by the church of St Paul which is now dilapidated. The main attraction of the church is that it enshrines the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa, which are kept on the right side of the altar. Another attraction of the tourists is the sound-and-light show about Jesus St. Francis Xavier, and Blessed Joseph Vaz. Also many people flock to this church on December 6 for the feast of St. Francis Xavier.
