۞ Accomodation
Bodh Gaya is full of hotels, but the temple- and monastery-run guest houses arc best. During the winter months, they fill up quickly. Remember to respect the rules of the religious community—no drinking, smoking, or "improper sexual conduct."

۞ Food:
Seasonla stalls in front of the Mahabodhi Temple and Burmese Vihar whip up lassis & cakes. A few places in the market lane sizzle fritters year-round. The lithis in the family -operated tea stalls in front of the Thai temple have been known to transport hungry pilgrims to higher states of contentment
 

۞ Fujiya Green
Near the Tibetan Temple. Leaving the pedestrian precinct with the Mahabodhi Temple to your left, make a right and follow the signs around to the left. Lamps-and-shades shack serves up simple dishes to the lamas from the monastery next door. Thukpas, vegetable chop suey.

۞ Old Pole Pole Restaurant
Gaya Rd. Opposite the Burmese Temple. Quirky menu ranges from spinach spaghetti to Japanese okonomi-yaki . All excellent.
 

۞ Sujata Restaurant
Inside Hotel Bodh Gaya Ashok, at the end of the road next to the museum. This is the best but most expensive in town. Offers A/C atmosphere with Indian veg. and non-veg. dishes.

۞ Kalyan Restaurant
Opposite the main temple, 70m down a small lane on the left-hand side. Simple, open-air place serves the usual range of dishes as well as vegetable gyoza.
